Latest Rejection....
Sir Vogel:
Please accept my deepest apology for the delay in responding to your submissions. Circumstances beyond my control prevented me from responding to the e-mail submissions of the past three weeks. Due to the avalanche of emails, I hope you will not mind that I'm responding to all of your poetry submissions in a single email. Today I read the twenty poems you submitted during my absence and I'm grateful I had the opportunity to read more of your work.
Of all the poems you submitted, Between the Frames came closest to acceptance. I like the ideas expressed in the poem but felt that it was a little rough around the edges. Although this poem dealt with death (as most of your poems do), I liked the fresh approach and fresh ideas. Yes, you are the master of the death poem (and love after death), but I wouldn't be an editor if I didn't encourage you to try your hand at new subjects. While I'll gladly read and consider every poem you send my way, new subject matter and a new approaches to horror, will stand the best chance for acceptance.
I received a contributor's copy of Night to Dawn this week and was impressed that you mentioned in your bio that you're the most published poet in Champagne Shivers. It did, in fact, make my day.
Keep writing.
