"Behind The Wall Of Sleep"
by
W.B. Vogel

Behind the wall of sleep
There are no illusions, stillborn dreams
Within the stillness of the silent heart,

Hopes interred in long dead glimmers
Where reasons find merciless oblivion,
And angels bloody wings blacken the sky,

The darkness finds this heart as a grave,
Abysmal, cold, and empty,
And calls this place a home,

Pulse ebbs and flows with death,
Beneath dark stars shining in the aeon deep,
Behind the wall of sleep.

"DeepBlackDream"
by
W.B. Vogel

I lie here in silent stillness, dreaming,
Of her shining in perfect darkness,

Will she ever be, anything to me,
But my deep, black dream,
An eternal adoration,

I lie here in silent stillness, dreaming,
Of her shining in perfect darkness,

Will she ever see, anything in me,
But my deep, black dream,
As I wait in contemplation,

She will forever be, everything to me,
If only in my deep, black dream.

"In Memoriam"
by
W.B. Vogel

Your glory shines from the heart of that eternal deep,
Far too soon gone, but never forgotten,
As angels bow their heads in praise.

"Theories In Chaos:
Writer's Demon"

by

W.B. Vogel

What is the writer's greatest demon? It's doubt--that nagging,
gnawing worry that what he/she is doing is worthless or just a waste
of ever-waning time. Some will encourage this fear with direct
intent, or subconscious weakness. They will use hateful words, cold
responses, and out-and-out silence. It often hurts, sometimes
deeply.

But let this not sway you. Often great writers fail to make a
significant impact while they live. (Stoker and Poe both died
broke.) This does not lessen their importance.

So why do it? Do it because you love to write, or because you love
the art. That's reason enough.

The best acid test of any work's quality is, "Do you enjoy it?" If
so, then the effort is never wasted. You are the first, and most
important judge of your art. As long as you put your heart and soul
into it, then its beauty is immeasureable. So let it shine.
